Thomas Picton began working in the Business Sales arena with Sunbelt Business Brokers, the world's leading Business Brokerage firm, where he was involved in selling a wide spectrum of businesses from classic high street to lower mid-market businesses.

The experience and frustrations in dealing with these businesses and their owners led to the creation of The Exit Planning Company with his business partner to help prepare business owners and their businesses for the sale process and to ensure that the business realises its maximum value on the owner's exit.

He has subsequently advised a number of business owners on how to properly prepare themselves and their business for an exit.
